All our NCR sets are printed on 80gsm NCR paper as standard measuring 210mm x 297mm. This is the most common paper size and perfect for fitting lots of information. We offer 2 part and 3 part sets which duplicate important information for you, so you don’t have to waste time doing it yourself!
Our A4Â Sets are a little different to our Duplicate Pads and A4 NCR Books. In comparison to our NCR books and A4 NCR Pads, they offer no perforation and as they are sets they do not need a grey backing board and are instead bound together as a set.
We also have A5 Sets which are half the size, A6 Sets a quarter of the size and DL Sets. All are delivered nationwide.
An NCR set is a complete set of specialist NCR or ‘no carbon required’ paper. A duplicate would be 2 NCR sheets glued together, and a triplicate would be 3 sheets. Like our NCR pads, the sets are glued along the top or you can choose to have them glued at the side.
Not so long ago, many businesses would use carbon paper to create multiples of documents. This involved placing a blue sheet of carbon paper between two piece of normal paper. However sadly, carbon paper is known for being very messy and causing lots of smudges which can in turn lead to inaccurate information. Instead, NCR products allow you to copy information in a clean, efficient and professional way.
Instead of using old-school blue carbon paper, NCR pads and sets are made up of several pieces of specialist carbonless paper. The back of each sheet is coated with a special micro-encapsulated dye which reacts with the top of the paper below when pressure is applied. When you write on the top sheet, you get a perfect copy of the original straight away on the bottom sheet. This is great if you often write down information and you need a copy for yourself and one for your customer.
NCR paper sets can have a wide range of uses, but because of their quick and easy duplication, most businesses use them for creating order forms, delivery notes, receipts, invoices and accident forms. They can be used anywhere you may need to retain and copy important information.
Unlike our NCR pad printing, there is no need for a loose writing shield. This is because they are already organised into sets, so you don’t need to worry about affecting the other carbonless copy paper sheets below. When you want to use a set, you simply take one from the pile and fill it in. Take off the top NCR sheet and file the other piece of special NCR paper away!
As with any piece of company stationery, the look of your NCR set should look professional and follow suit to the rest of your company’s image. Remember, first impressions count!. Numbering and drilling (2 or 4 holes) are available on our sets, just as it is on our invoice pads and all of our NCR printing services. It is important to bare this in mind when you are designing your print ready artwork.
Knowing what size you would like before you start is always a good start. Our sets are available in A6, A5 and A4 sizes as well as DL. No matter whether you are ordering bespoke printed A4 sets or pads in another size, we offer a design service across all our services.
If concurrent or sequential numbering is needed on your custom NCR, we recommend supplying two files, one for print and one showing the numbering position information as a reference for our team. Please also ensure that you let us know the start number of your choice.
If you would also like your sets double-sided, we would suggest using 70% black for the reserve to avoid any show-through. Remember when designing a double-sided design, it is best to remember that this is printed in black and is typically used for terms and conditions and not NCR form elements.
Unlike a lot of other companies, we do not tell you what colours to have on the copies. You are free to choose your own paper colours. The only rule is that the top must be white. To help, we have provided customised templates so you can design your artwork for your brand even easier.
When you have finished placing your order and we have received the full specification along with your PDF artwork file, we will first check that what you have ordered correlates to the design files. We then send you a screen proof back via email to approve before printing. This is standard whether you are ordering duplicate or triplicate NCR pads. Remember, we also offer 4 part order pads should you need them!
We check that your artwork is in CMYK, but if not we ensure that it is converted to CMYK and if there are crop marks we remove them. This means there is no need to add crop marks but please ensure your artwork has a 3mm bleed.
Once we have done all the checks to ensure the specs are correct and you have approved your artwork, your order moves into our production queue.
Like our pads or books, we offer free delivery to one UK mainland address on our sets. Once your order is through our production, we send it on a next working day delivery. Orders for shorter runs are typically out after 5 working days with larger orders taking between 7-10. Please be aware that this is not an off-the-shelf product and each order is made bespoke for each and every one of our clients.
